Michael Pprter is famous professor, the article “what is strategy” has been on of the most classical literature and pubnished on Harvard Business Review.
I think it is beneficial for us to compare the viewpoint of this artical and the core ideology of CBI.
Michael Pprter pointed out that, there are three key priciples underlie strategic positioning:
1, strategy is the creation of a unique and valueble position, involving a different set of activities.
2. strategy involves creating “fit” among a company’s activities.
3. strategy requires you to make trade-offs in competing- to choose what not to do.
So, my viewpoint is that, CBI can improve “Operation effectiveness” (运营效率),but can not ensure the success in strategy.
I’d like to listen to your opinions. Best regards!
