How do you think about persistence in business?

In business world, persistence seems a key charactor that a successful man/woman must have.
But, on the other hand, persistence also might lead a great loss. In ADM@RT case, persistence helps Jimmy win the reputation in publication area, but also contributes heavy loss when he run ADM@RT.
If you were Jimmy, will you stop right away when you find something is wrong?

the e-business was new and adm@rt is not well planned.
Jimmy was good with his reputation and innovation in media, but is just overconfident with himself and didn't stop at the right time or re-organize the plan before next step.

Persistence is good but ignorance of overall situation is not that smart.

Every coin has two sides. But I agree with you, persistence is a necessity for anyone who wants to succeed.

persistence itself has nothing wrong. In Jimmy's case, adm@rt did not have a right value properition neither a clear segmentation which lead the business running in chaos in each part of the operation.

In ADM@RT case, Jimmy needs more flexibility for online shopping service to meet the real business world operations. For example, maybe Jimmy should focus on clothes online shopping at first because he has much experience about cloths brand Giodano, maybe Jimmy should share more rights to partner because they are professional for IT system and Logistic parts, maybe Jimmy should cancel the real shopfront for cost saving.

I think the critical is not persistence or not, but smart persistence or not. if you can learn from failures,grasp the critical points and keep in the correct direction,persistence will works and will lead a success,
